The side door opens into the hall, with the utility room on the right, where boots and coats go and a spare crate waits for the dog while you get settled. To the left is the beautifully furnished lounge, with comfortable seating, a TV and French doors giving onto the garden and the hot tub annexe, plus a ground floor shower room. Up on the first floor, the well equipped kitchen has a coffee machine, and dinner for two is eaten at its table. Across the landing waits the gorgeous bedroom, its super king dressed in luxury linen, with a stylish en suite for a leisurely shower.
Outside, the former stables have been converted into a private space for the hot tub. The enclosed garden holds a paved patio, table, chairs and sculptures, and an evening of al fresco dining around a charcoal BBQ, with two dogs stretched out on the paving, is what the place was made for.
The dogs have the River Severn very close to the property, a good place to seek the elusive barbel, and the owner is able to advise on fishing. Shrewsbury is a medieval market town with over 600 listed buildings, its castle and Abbey. Church Stretton is an excellent base for walking, and Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth with its Cliff Railway and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums all make good days out.
