This charming stone cottage stands on a tranquil country lane surrounded by fields, less than a mile from Godshill, and it makes a lovingly converted dog friendly retreat for three people and two dogs.
There are two gardens. At the back is an attractive walled garden in the courtyard style, furnished, with a BBQ for eating outdoors, while at the front is a lovely fenced area with a lawn, a bird table and shrubs, where the dogs can watch the birds come and go. Inside, the lounge offers plenty of comfy seats, with a traditional wood burner for cosy evenings and a Smart TV besides, and the pretty kitchen diner on the same floor has a charming dining area.
Upstairs there is a king size double, a single with a 4ft bed, and a bathroom whose shower you walk straight into. Evenings end at the wood burner, both dogs flat out by the fire and the lane gone quiet. Over the festive season the cottage is decorated for Christmas, and larger parties can book it alongside neighbouring Milk Parlour Cottage, which sleeps three more.
The tranquil village of Godshill lies less than a mile off, with its thatched cottages, historic church, pubs and tea rooms, and the Stenbury Trail makes a beautiful walk to Shanklin with the dogs. For a day on the sand, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all an easy drive, and the popular market town of Newport, its medieval castle included, is close at hand.
