Set amongst 50 acres of grazing farmland at Hough, The Lodge at Yew Tree Farm is a charming, dog friendly lodge for four, 5 miles from the historic market town of Nantwich. Two dogs come too, the garden is fully enclosed and secure, and out on the decking there is a dog wash for muddy paws after a walk.

The lodge is reached through the gates of the main farmhouse and down the driveway to its private setting. Boots come off in the fully equipped utility room; beyond it the large open plan kitchen and living area gathers round a feature wood burner, with two sets of patio doors to swing open and let the light fill the space. Conversation flows at the breakfast bar while supper is made, and the dogs settle by the burner once the walking is done.

Both bedrooms have beautiful views of the Cheshire countryside through patio doors of their own: a large double at the front and a spacious twin at the rear, each with its own en suite. Spacious decking hugs the front and the rear of the lodge, catching the morning and evening sun: a barbecue on the patio, dining out on the decking, and a book in hand while cattle graze the field in front, watched closely by the dogs.

Public footpaths for walks with the dogs are plentiful in the area, and the farm's own 50 acres of countryside wait to be explored on foot. The Cheshire Cycle Way winds through the village, and further afield the Sandstone Trail, 15 miles away, and Delamere Forest offer walking for all abilities. Nantwich, with its Tudor and Georgian architecture, independent shops and eateries, makes a fine afternoon out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Lodge - Yew Tree Farm dog friendly?

Yes, The Lodge at Yew Tree Farm welcomes dogs — up to two are allowed. The property has been set up with them in mind: there's a fully enclosed garden, a utility space at the entrance for muddy boots and wet dogs, and the 50-acre farm's footpaths are right on the doorstep with almost no other walkers to contend with.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Lodge - Yew Tree Farm year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates and to check any current terms around pets.

  • What should I know before visiting The Lodge - Yew Tree Farm with my dog?

The garden is fully fenced all the way round, so dogs can be outside without you having to watch the perimeter. Beyond the fence, the setting is open farmland with cattle grazing rather than roads, and the farm's footpaths are rarely used by other walkers — so you're unlikely to meet other dogs or people on a circuit. The utility room at the entrance is a practical first stop after a walk, built for exactly the kind of mess two dogs can bring back.
