The Lynes Farmhouse

Carron, Moray

A farmhouse for five above Speyside at Carron, alone in 100 acres of its own farmland with views to Ben Rinnes, an enclosed garden and two dogs welcome.

Book now

The Lynes Farmhouse stands alone in 100 acres of its own farmland on the hill above Speyside, Ben Rinnes filling the view one way and the Spey valley falling away the other. Two dogs are welcome, and with the private enclosed garden backed by that much ground, this dog friendly farmhouse for five is mostly about space.

Inside is simple, bright and warm: a lounge with a wood burner and sofas for all five, a kitchen diner for leisurely breakfasts, a single bedroom and shower room downstairs, and a double and a twin up the carpeted stairs beside the family bathroom. The garden holds the BBQ and the long view, and a dog can survey the whole valley from it.

Behind the house, old Scots pines lead into the Elchies forest, which becomes the dogs' discovery of the week: red squirrels, deer tracks, soft paths and nobody else on them. A woodland path runs the mile to Archiestown when the walk wants a destination.

The Speyside Way and its Craigellachie to Aberlour stretch sit below for the classic river walk, the distilleries are everywhere the signs point, and the Moray coast waits for the beach day. Up here, though, the farmland does most of the entertaining, and two dogs will be in no hurry to leave the hill.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Lynes Farmhouse dog friendly?

Yes, The Lynes Farmhouse welcomes up to two dogs. The property has a private enclosed garden and sits within 100 acres of its own farmland, so there's serious room for dogs to stretch their legs — with woodland, forest paths and open hill all on the doorstep.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Lynes Farmhouse year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given the rural farmland setting and enclosed garden, it's well set up for dogs whatever the season.

  • What should I know before visiting The Lynes Farmhouse with my dog?

The property accepts a maximum of two dogs, so it's not suitable for larger groups of pets. The enclosed garden is a real bonus for keeping dogs secure, and behind the house old Scots pines lead directly into Elchies forest — with deer tracks and red squirrels about, it's worth having a reliable recall before you head in.
