Book now

The Old Mission Hall is a charming former Sunday School hall in the hamlet of Pantygelli, made for couples and families who like to bring their dogs on holiday too. Walks start from the doorstep, with the Black Mountains to discover and Offa's Dyke Path passing close to the village, so this dog friendly stay suits anyone keen to spend the days on foot.

Inside is a spacious open plan living area with original wooden floors and charming wood panelled walls. The kitchen is well equipped, the dining table is the place for meals together, and the cosy lounge area has comfortable seating around a gas fire that mimics the warmth of a wood burner, where the dogs end the evening. Either side of the main living space is a bedroom, each with an en suite of its own; one holds a king-size bed, the other zip and link twins that can join to make a king on request.

Outside the hall and down a few steps is a separate boot room with a WC and a washing machine, ideal for drying off wet coats and muddy paws. Double doors open onto a spacious decked veranda with views of the Skirrid and the Black Mountains, and in the evening the fire pit is lit there. For the dogs, there is a large enclosed paddock just across the lane from the house, with plenty of space to run and play.

Abergavenny is 3 miles away, a popular market town with shops and many excellent restaurants. History is close at hand as well: Llanthony Abbey is 8 miles off, and the castles at Grosmont and Raglan make good outings with the dogs in the car.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Old Mission Hall dog friendly?

Yes, The Old Mission Hall welcomes up to two dogs. One of its real selling points is a fully fenced paddock directly across the lane, giving your dogs a secure space to run freely without a lead.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Old Mission Hall year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and nothing in the property description suggests otherwise. If you want to confirm availability for specific dates, it's worth checking directly with the property.

  • What should I know before visiting The Old Mission Hall with my dog?

The property takes a maximum of two dogs, so it's not suited to larger groups of pets. There's a separate utility room off the hall designed to handle wet coats and muddy dogs before they come into the main living space, which is a handy setup after a walk. Trails are accessible from the hamlet itself within five minutes, and Abergavenny is just 3 miles away with hill walking routes behind the town.
