The Stone Byre Park Farm

Redmarley, Gloucestershire

A two bedroom byre conversion for four at Redmarley near Ledbury, with everything on one level, a secure garden and one dog welcome.

There is nothing above the ground floor here. Both bedrooms, both en-suites and the extra WC are on one level, which for four people is unusual and for anybody who does not do stairs is what separates a holiday from an obstacle course. The Stone Byre is a five star conversion at Redmarley, dog friendly, and takes one dog. An animal that has stopped managing steps gets the whole building rather than the ground floor of it.

Two en-suites and a separate WC for four is generous at this size, and the sort of thing that only becomes obvious on a morning when everybody wants to leave at once. The garden outside is secure and level. There is underfloor heating throughout, which a dog will find inside the first evening and then refuse to leave.

It suits four people who want the countryside without any of it being difficult. The farm around it is a working one and the byre has its own ground inside it, so there is plenty to look at and none of it to do. One dog and no stairs is a combination that turns out to matter more as the years go on, and this is a listing that will still work when a labrador is eleven.

Gullet Quarry, 3.1 miles off, is flooded and cut into the end of the Malvern ridge, with rock faces going straight down into the water and a path climbing round the top. Croome sits further out, a Capability Brown park with a river he dug himself. Upton on Severn keeps a stranded church tower by the bridge. One dog gets the quarry track, which is short, steep and worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Stone Byre Park Farm dog friendly?

Yes, The Stone Byre Park Farm welcomes one dog. It's a particularly good fit for dogs that struggle with stairs, since the entire property — both bedrooms, both en-suites and the extra WC — is on one level, so your dog has the run of the whole place rather than being confined to a ground floor.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Stone Byre Park Farm year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the property when booking. What's clear is that it's set up with dogs genuinely in mind — the garden is secure and level, and the underfloor heating throughout will likely become your dog's favourite discovery on the first evening.

  • What should I know before visiting The Stone Byre Park Farm with my dog?

The property takes one dog, so it's worth confirming this at the time of booking if you're hoping to bring more than one. The garden is secure and level, which makes life easier, and nearby Gullet Quarry — about three miles away — offers a short, steep track that's well worth a visit with your dog.
