The Wheatsheaf Barn sits at the head of a working farm at the end of a private drive, in a slightly elevated spot close to the Herefordshire border, with uninterrupted views across open farmland. Two dogs are welcome, a secure enclosed garden has been provided for them to run free, and there are dedicated fields for walks and exercise, so this is a dog friendly barn where the dogs have been thought about properly.
Inside, the original framework and vaulted ceilings have been sympathetically restored, and the ground floor is the social hub. To one side, a cosy lounge with large, comfortable seating drawn round the wood burner for board games or a film, both dogs stretched across the floor before the flames. To the other, the kitchen/diner has bespoke units, granite worksurfaces, a full electric Range oven, stools at the breakfast bar and a large table for a celebration supper.
A side door leads to the boot room, utility room and WC. Oak stairs climb to the mezzanine landing and on to two king-size rooms with en-suites, a king-size zip and link and a bunk room with adult size bunks. Outside there is a private terrace on one side of the barn for barbecues, and on the other the secluded, fully enclosed garden with table, chairs and loungers, where the dogs can run free.
Ledbury, with its independent shops and seasonal local produce, is within easy reach, and with the Malvern Hills, the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean all close, the dogs will not run short of walks. Cheltenham is there for a day at the races, and the farm even has a helicopter landing pad, by arrangement with the owner.
