Walks and cycle routes leave from the front door of Ty Glyndwr, so the two dogs are out exploring almost before the car is unpacked. This magnificent, contemporary dog friendly house sleeps eight in the village of Cwmtwrch-Uchaf, holds a five star grading, and was designed with families and couples in mind, with a private hot tub waiting in the garden.

The living room has plush seating around the Smart TV, plus an organ and a guitar for anyone who loves to play, and the large dining room seats all eight for shared meals and celebrations. The kitchen has a Rangemaster range cooker and a breakfast bar, and the adjoining lounge opens directly onto the garden; the dogs will be through those doors in no time.

Four generously sized bedrooms each have their own TV, the main suite's en suite has its corner shower, and there is a family bathroom and a downstairs wet room as well. Outside, the beautifully landscaped garden is private and enclosed, with luxury loungers, a BBQ, table tennis and swing ball. After a day of adventure, everyone unwinds in the six-seater hot tub, glass in hand, while the dogs settle down nearby. Come December, the whole house is dressed for Christmas.

The Brecon Beacons are 4 miles away, with gentle walking trails and wide open landscapes for the dogs, and Henrhyd Falls, 8 miles off, makes a fine morning out. The National Showcaves Centre for Wales will delight the children, and the South Wales beaches and the shops and restaurants of Swansea are all within an easy drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Ty Glyndwr dog friendly?

Yes, Ty Glyndwr welcomes up to two dogs and is set up for them properly. The garden is fully enclosed, patio doors open straight from the living room into it, and there is a ground floor wet room with a walk-in shower — ideal for rinsing off after a muddy day in the Beacons.

  • Are dogs allowed at Ty Glyndwr year round?

The listing does not specify seasonal restrictions, so it is worth contacting the owners directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given the wet room and enclosed garden, the property is clearly designed with year-round dog visits in mind.

  • What should I know before visiting Ty Glyndwr with my dog?

Up to two dogs are welcome, and the enclosed private garden gives them somewhere to settle in from the moment you arrive. The ground floor wet room is well worth knowing about — with valley walks and the Brecon Beacons on the doorstep, muddy dogs are a near certainty, and it keeps the rest of the house clean. The National Park boundary is about 4 miles away, so you will want a car to reach the main walking country.
