Book now

The enclosed garden at Tyr Twyni has a gate that opens out onto the sandy beach, and the sea is just a few metres from it. This detached, five star house in Pwllheli welcomes one dog, a dog friendly home for six built upside down to make the most of its commanding coastal views.

The ground floor holds the utility room and a lovely twin with a shower room. On the next floor, two beautiful bedrooms each have zip and link super king beds and en suites. The elegant, light and airy living space crowns the house: a single open plan room that takes in panoramic sea views, with a gas range style oven, a table at the centre and comfortable sofas for lounging. The dog can settle in while the feature doors stand open to the soothing sounds of the beach.

Those doors lead to a large balcony with table and chairs and views from sunrise to sunset, ideal for dining outdoors. At ground level the games garage has a football table and room for bikes and paddleboards, and the enclosed garden has a lawn, picnic tables and a charcoal barbecue, which means the dog can come up from the beach to a garden of its own.

The beach here is part of the Sarnau Special Area of Conservation, rich in wildlife, and the Llyn Coast Path promises wonderful sea views for walking with a dog. Pwllheli's marina, independent shops and cafes are within a mile, and Criccieth Castle, Portmeirion and the National Trust's Plas Yn Rhiw make lovely days out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Tyr Twyni dog friendly?

Yes, Tyr Twyni welcomes one dog. It's a genuinely dog-forward place to stay — the garden is enclosed, and a gate at the bottom of it opens directly onto the beach, so your morning walk starts without a car journey.

  • Are dogs allowed at Tyr Twyni year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs at Tyr Twyni. For confirmation of availability at a specific time of year, it's worth checking directly with the property when you book.

  • What should I know before visiting Tyr Twyni with my dog?

The property sleeps six across three bedrooms and accepts one dog. The twin bedroom and utility room sit at ground level — closest to the sand — with a shower room off the utility, which makes it a practical base for a dog and whoever's doing the walking. The beach forms part of the Sarnau conservation area and stretches a long way in both directions, and if you head east, Criccieth has a castle between two beaches where dogs are welcome on both.
