Wells Stable Coach House once echoed to the clatter of horses' hooves, and it has been sensitively renovated into a spacious, contemporary dog friendly stay for four people and two dogs. It lies at the bottom of Rubers Law, a renowned local landmark, in country steeped in Border Reiver history, and the immediate area is full of off road walking.
Daylight streams through large arched patio doors into the living area, where comfortable seating and a smart TV share the space with a spacious dining table and a well equipped kitchen. There is under floor heating, and the dogs find a warm floor every bit as agreeable as everyone else does. A stylish shower room leads off the living area, followed by a pretty double bedroom and a twin.
Outside, a fully enclosed patio and garden have seating and a gas BBQ, with uninterrupted views over fields where horses and sheep graze. The dogs will want to keep an eye on the neighbours for the first hour or so. After dark the sky fills with stars, and there is storage for bikes too.

The Borders Abbey Way gives a dog long days of walking, the Teviot and the Tweed are famous for salmon and trout, and Glentress, Innerleithen and Kielder Forest wait for anyone with a mountain bike. Abbotsford and Floors are among the stately homes nearby.
