Chew Green's Roman camp sits 13.1 miles off on the line itself, reached across empty moorland, with Kielder's forest and water beyond it. The Teviot runs north through Hawick and Jedburgh's abbey is a short drive east. There is very little traffic and a great deal of hill, and two dogs will notice both.
