Winnies Hayloft is a romantic, cosy bolthole for two in the village of Bwlch, perfectly placed at the edge of the national park, made for couples who want a peaceful escape with their dogs by their side. Two dogs come too in this dog friendly cottage, and three mapped circular walks on the Beacons Way start right from the doorstep.

The cottage is full of character, with oak beams, exposed stone walls and cosy cream toned interiors. The well equipped kitchen has a gas hob and oven, a dishwasher and a washing machine, and the quarry tiled dining area is the place for romantic meals. Dogs are allowed in the downstairs areas only, so this is where the two of them settle after the day's walk, while their people go up to unwind.

The light filled living room has large skylights and far reaching views down the Usk Valley and over the surrounding hills, a lovely spot to curl up with a glass of wine. There is a comfy double bedroom and a stylish wet room with a powerful shower for after a long walk. Outside, the enclosed yard has seating and a portable barbecue for relaxed evenings, and the dogs are happy to keep you company out there over supper.

Bwlch is a walker's delight, and the dogs can follow the Beacons Way straight out of the village. Llangynidr is only a mile away, with scenic canal walks and two welcoming, dog friendly pubs, and the pretty town of Crickhowell is 6 miles off. The Henry Vaughan Walk winds through the Talybont valley, and the Brecon and Monmouth Canal, the River Usk and the River Wye all offer more to explore.
