Blenheim Palace Park Perimeter

Blenheim Palace sits in 2,000 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown, and the 11.3 km perimeter circuit takes in the full scale of what eighteenth-century landscape design achieved here. The route follows field edges, woodland rides and lakeside paths around the estate boundary, with the palace visible across the lake at several points and the parkland demonstrating Brown's trademark naturalistic style: gently rolling grassland, carefully placed tree clumps, and the vast lake created by damming the River Glyme. The walking is gentle throughout with only 88 m of climbing, and the paths are clear and well maintained. The sheer scale of the estate means the walk never feels crowded even on busy days.

This is a dog friendly walk that rewards through variety and sustained distance rather than dramatic terrain. The lake holds waterfowl that dogs register immediately, the woodland sections are mature oak and beech with proper canopy and rich leaf-litter scent, and the open parkland provides long views and fresh air. Dogs must be on leads throughout the estate as livestock graze across the parkland, including deer in the designated park areas.
