Dartington Hall Estate and River Dart Walk
Devon
This dog friendly walk explores the 1,200 acre Dartington Hall Estate just outside Totnes, threading together riverside meadows along the wide green Dart, ancient oak and beech woodland, hidden tors and the working farms that wrap the medieval Hall. The riverside path runs for two miles linking the Hall with the Cider Press Centre, and the wider circular extends through Aller Park, Park Copse and Queen's Marsh.
Dogs are welcome across most of the estate and there is a dedicated off-lead area at the Aller Park field where they can run freely; everywhere else they need a lead because of livestock and ground-nesting birds, and dogs are not permitted inside the formal Dartington Hall gardens. The riverside meadows are paw friendly and there are easy access points for a paddle in the Dart. Parking is at the main estate car park near the Hall and at the Cider Press Centre, both cashless via the RingGo app, and the estate has cafes and a dog friendly pub at the Hall.
