Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club

Forest Row, East Sussex

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 1 dog per room.

A country house hotel in a 186 acre estate at Forest Row, with Ashdown Forest on the doorstep for your dog to explore.

Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club stands in a 186 acre estate at Wych Cross, with Ashdown Forest all around it, the woodland the hotel ties to the Winnie the Pooh stories. The forest is the reason to pick this dog friendly hotel: trails start on the doorstep, and a dog can explore the estate off the lead.

One dog to a room, in one of the selected dog friendly bedrooms, and six ground floor rooms open onto the patio, which the hotel suggests for dog owners. A Sir Woofchester welcome pack arrives with treats, a toy and waste bags in a reusable bowl, with a towel for wet paws and a dog menu to order from. Bring your dog's own bed and extra bowls, on hygiene grounds. Inside the building and around the terraces dogs stay on a lead, and a bedroom is not somewhere to leave them unattended.

The West Lounge is where a dog joins you for food and drink, from the lounge menu. Dogs are not brought into the Country Club. The kitchen has two AA Rosettes to its name.

Suites are named after the trees of the forest, some in two rooms, some with four poster beds and views over the lake and parkland. The Country Club holds an indoor heated pool, a gym, two tennis courts, an 18 hole par 3 golf course and bikes to hire. The forest is the dog's: Wildpack's Ashdown Forest: Gills Lap and Chuck Hatch is 0.2 miles away, and Brighton Beach is our nearest dog friendly one, 19.2 miles off.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
