Beck Hall, a dog friendly boutique hotel in Malham1 / 8

Beck Hall

Malham, North Yorkshire

Yes. Dogs can stay in all rooms, up to 3 dogs per room.

A 100% plant-based hotel over a clapper bridge in Malham, where dog biscuits are on tap and the walks to Malham Cove start from the door.

Built in 1705 as a yeoman's cottage, Beck Hall lies over an ancient clapper bridge in the centre of Malham, a little hotel by a stream with 20 rooms, among rolling hills and limestone landscapes. The two dog lovers who run it wanted somewhere that welcomes dogs properly rather than merely putting up with them, and it shows: this is a dog friendly hotel where the walking begins on the doorstep.

Every room takes dogs, up to three of them, and if you choose the pet friendly option when booking, the hotel will do its best to give you a room close to an outside door for easy access to the stream-side garden. Dog biscuits are on tap, extra towels and mats are there when the paws come back muddy. Everything the hotel serves is plant based, but you're welcome to bring your dog's usual food to your room, and a fridge away from the kitchen keeps dog food or medication cold. The hotel can't accept dog types prohibited or restricted under UK law, XL Bully and Pit Bull types among them.

Dogs are welcome at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the bar and the Secret Garden Restaurant, so you can share a sausage at breakfast with your dog beside you. Plant-based dishes made with ingredients from local suppliers run from familiar favourites after a long walk to world flavours, and there's a Sunday roast.

The guest snug has an open fire, and the Historic rooms in the original cottage keep their vaulted ceilings and mullioned windows. The hotel lists Dog-friendly Hotel of the Year among its awards. With the dog, Wildpack's Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss walk is only 0.2 miles away, with Malham Tarn and Fountains Fell 1.9 miles away.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
