1 / 8Garvock House Hotel
Dunfermline, Fife
Yes. Dogs can stay overnight.
A boutique hotel in an elevated position above Dunfermline, where dogs get a cosy dog bed and a water bowl and are welcome in the lounge.
Dogs who turn up at Garvock are met with a big smile, a tummy rub and a tasty treat, which tells you most of what you need to know about this dog friendly hotel. The 200 year old house stands handsomely in an elevated position over historic Dunfermline, a town centre address with the peaceful feel of a countryside retreat.
No two of the 26 ensuite rooms are alike in style or character, and there are Gordon Castle toiletries and feather soft linen in all of them. A cosy dog bed and a water bowl come out for your dog. On a dog limit, and on which bedrooms dogs are given, the hotel doesn't say, so sort both out as you book.
Light bites land in the lounge and on the patio daily, and the lounge is the room the hotel marks as dog friendly, so that is where to settle with a drink and the dog at your feet. The kitchen works from fresh local ingredients, with afternoon tea and a traditional beef or chicken roast on Sunday. Whether a dog can come to dinner the hotel doesn't say, so add it to the list of questions.
The restaurant and function suites are named after the hotel's award winning Shetland pony stud history; the house was originally a family home used as a stud farm. Dunfermline city centre is a short walk away, with the Abbey, the ruins of the Palace and the heritage quarter to explore, and Aberdour Silver Sands is the closest dog friendly beach on Wildpack, 6.2 miles out, with the dog rules on its page.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
