1 / 8The Bell Hotel Saxmundham
Saxmundham, Suffolk
Yes. Dogs can stay in 2 dog friendly rooms, up to 1 dog per room.
A Grade II listed hotel in the heart of Saxmundham, with well behaved dogs on a lead allowed in the Coast Bar, reception and patio.
Two of the ten bedrooms at The Bell Hotel Saxmundham were created with dogs in mind, because the team loves dogs and reckons the many walks around here make it a pity to leave yours at home. The hotel is Grade II listed, on the High Street in the heart of the town, and King George II rested his head here in 1737. Beyond its history, this dog friendly hotel puts Aldeburgh, Southwold and Framlingham Castle within easy reach.
Each dog friendly room takes a single dog, and they sit among the hotel's standard room types, so give prior notice when you book. The bedrooms are themed on the coast nearby, with handcrafted features, bespoke decoration and Hypnos beds made up in fine cotton and down bedding. A dog may not stay unattended in your room at any point, so plan on days out together.
Reception, the Coast Bar and the outside patio are all open to well behaved dogs on a lead, and the hotel says the bar will offer a small dog food menu. Dogs aren't permitted in the restaurant; the Coast Bar is where you and your dog settle in, a relaxed spot for casual dining, fine wines, craft beers and cocktails made from locally distilled spirits. The restaurant works with local producers, from Suffolk farms to the sea, and serves a hearty breakfast every morning.
Gourmet coffee and slices of cake are on offer in the bar during the day, and three lockable bike racks sit on the terrace for anyone exploring on two wheels. Thorpeness Beach is 5.7 miles away, and of all the beaches on Wildpack's map it is the nearest dog friendly one, good for a morning on the sand with your dog.
