1 / 8The Dinton Hermit
Dinton, Buckinghamshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in 4 dog friendly rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.
A 17th century country inn in the hamlet of Ford, with four of its eight rooms given over to dogs, two to a room.
Ford is a hamlet in Buckinghamshire, and The Dinton Hermit is its 17th century Grade II listed country inn, in a rural location. Dog walkers are on the list of people the place sets out to welcome, alongside families, food lovers and neighbours, and this dog friendly inn keeps four of its eight rooms for guests with a dog.
Dogs are allowed in the three Eaves rooms, up a short flight of stairs in the main building, and in the Barn Grand room, to a maximum of two dogs. The Eaves rooms are each furnished differently and can be set up as a super king or a twin, while the Barn Grand has a wet room with a level access shower. Beds are Hypnos, pillows come medium or firm, and the duvets are vegan and made from recycled plastic bottles.
The Classic Menu is served daily in the casual bar area as well as in the restaurant during the day, so the pub favourites are available in a relaxed setting. Where a dog may join you the hotel does not say, so it is worth a call before you book. Thursday to Saturday the Dinton Signature menu takes over the Garden Restaurant, a new a la carte every three months built on locally sourced ingredients with provenance, and there is a Little Tummies menu for children.
The fit-out follows the inn's Being Mindful pledge: water saving showers, LED bulbs, many pieces of upcycled furniture and, wherever possible, plastic free refreshments in the room. Breakfast is freshly prepared and included, or a takeaway breakfast if you are in a hurry. For the dog, Haddenham and the Thame Valley is 2.3 miles off on Wildpack's map.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
