The Grand Hotel, a dog friendly coastal hotel in Eastbourne1 / 8

The Grand Hotel

Eastbourne, East Sussex

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 1 dog per room.

A five star seafront hotel in Eastbourne, known as the White Palace, where dogs get a welcome pack, a towel and a menu of their own.

The Grand Hotel has looked out over the Eastbourne seafront since 1875, known as the White Palace, with the cliffs at Beachy Head along the coast. One dog comes per room in this dog friendly hotel, and the welcome runs from a pack of treats to a menu it can order from.

Dogs stay in a selected bedroom; the Superior Classic Inland rooms are not suitable for them, and the other categories have availability. The Sir Woofchester pack holds treats, a toy and waste bags in a bowl you can reuse, there is a towel for use during the stay, for paws after walkies, and a dog menu can be ordered during the stay. The hotel asks for your own dog bed and additional bowls on hygiene grounds. A lead stays on anywhere public, and bedrooms are not for leaving a dog unattended.

The Drawing Room is where a dog joins you for food and drink, from the lounge menu. Dogs are kept out of the Health Club for hygiene reasons. The kitchen carries two AA Rosettes, the Mirabelle and the Garden Room take the dining, afternoon tea included, and the lounges have been the social centre of the hotel since it opened.

The Health & Leisure Club has an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a gym, eight beauty rooms and a steam room, and the hotel holds an AA Recommended Spa Award. Dogs are welcome on the lawns and the terrace while on a lead. Wildpack puts South Downs Way: Eastbourne to Alfriston 0.9 miles away, and Birling Gap, our nearest dog friendly beach, 3.7 miles along the coast.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
