1 / 8The Grosvenor Stockbridge
Stockbridge, Hampshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms.
A hotel dating to 1822 on Stockbridge High Street, where garden rooms open onto a walled garden and the bar welcomes well behaved dogs.
Six garden rooms at The Grosvenor Stockbridge have double doors opening onto the hotel's walled garden, and they are the rooms the hotel recommends for an overnight stay with a dog, so yours has easy access to outside space. The Grosvenor dates to 1822 and sits at the heart of Stockbridge, home of the River Test, with the New Forest, Winchester and Salisbury within easy reach. Fly fishing, shooting, walking and cycling are the pursuits on offer around this dog friendly hotel.
Dogs are also welcome in the Hayloft and in Tap Cottage, a three bedroom cottage beside the hotel with a modern kitchen and a spacious living room. There are dog beds, and the hotel says it loves having four-legged friends to stay. The garden rooms each have their own terrazzo for a morning coffee. How many dogs may come, and whether one can stay in on its own while you're out, are two things The Grosvenor doesn't state, so raise them as you book.
Well behaved dogs get a warm welcome in the buzzy 1822 Bar and out in the walled garden. The Grosvenor doesn't state whether they can come with you to the Market Room Restaurant or the Terrace, so ask about that as you reserve a table. The eateries offer a fisherman's breakfast before a day on the river, a celebratory dinner and an expertly mixed cocktail.
Antique pieces, bold colours and rich fabrics fill the bedrooms, and the Mayfly keeps its original four poster bed. Independent stores, delis and galleries along the High Street are close by for a browse, and Wildpack's Stockbridge to Marsh Court Riverside Walk is 0.1 miles away when it's time for a proper walk with the dog.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
