Trefeddian Hotel

Aberdyfi, Gwynedd

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.

A four star seaside hotel in Aberdyfi looking over Cardigan Bay, where dogs on a lead are welcome in the bar, the Study and the gardens.

Down past the swimming pool, over the road, across the golf course and through the sand dunes: that is the walk from the Trefeddian Hotel straight onto the beach. This four star dog friendly hotel stands in the seaside village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi) in Mid Wales, on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, with sweeping views over Cardigan Bay.

Dogs are welcome on every floor except the fourth, where the superior rooms are kept pet free, and there is a maximum of two dogs per room, with no exceptions. Bring your dog's own bedding, food and towels, as the hotel doesn't provide them; there are bins in the grounds and a supply of bags at reception. The house rules ask that dogs keep off the furniture and beds, as some guests may be allergic to dog hair, and that dogs aren't left unattended, except when you are dining.

Dogs aren't permitted in the dining room at breakfast or dinner, nor in the other lounges. They are welcome on a lead in the Study opposite Reception and in the bar, where bar snacks and sandwiches are served in the afternoon, as well as out on the terrace and in the hotel gardens. Fresh produce for the dining room is grown in the hotel's kitchen garden, and breakfast has earned the hotel an AA Breakfast Award.

The heated indoor swimming pool and spa bath look out across Cardigan Bay, and there is a nine-hole putting green. For your dog, the beach is the draw: Aberdyfi Beach, which Wildpack lists as the nearest dog friendly beach, is 1 mile away.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
