3 Gabberwell Cottages is a 300 year old character cottage at Kingston, set between the coast and Dartmoor National Park in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Lovingly fitted with creature comforts alongside its traditional features, this dog friendly cottage is home for the week to six guests and their two dogs, 1 mile from the beach.
The cosy, welcoming lounge is full of character, with comfortable sofas, the warming wood burner and a Smart TV; it is a lovely room for a good book in the evening with the dogs dozing nearby. Next door, the utility has lots of boot and coat storage, a washer and a tumble dryer, with a wet room and WC for guests to clean down with ease. The open plan kitchen and diner has French doors out to the garden for eating alfresco.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are lovingly presented in a fresh contemporary country style: a double, a lovely triple with three single beds and a cosy single, plus the bathroom, fitted with bath, separate shower and WC. Steps lead up from the single bedroom to a delightful attic snug with cushions and a Smart TV, a hideout for older children. The fabulous enclosed cottage garden has lawn, patio, furniture and a charcoal BBQ, ideal for morning coffee or a pre dinner drink with the dogs nearby.
The South West Coast Path is close by for walking with the dogs, with an array of beaches and pretty coves dotted around the area. Salcombe is close for its exclusive restaurants, and Dartmouth, on the mouth of the River Dart, is a little further afield, while Dartmoor National Park, Plymouth, Woodlands and Paignton Zoo all make good days out.
