The lawned garden at Aero Cottage is secure and very spacious, and it seems to run seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The owner describes it as safe for children and dogs, and up to two dogs can stay at this dog friendly stone cottage in a rural position on the eastern fringe of the Peak District National Park.
You arrive from the patio, which is south facing and catches the sun throughout the day, straight into the impressive lounge, where stone flag floors and beautiful oak features give the room its character. There is plenty of seating for a cosy night in, underfloor heating, and the dogs will find their places on the flagstones soon enough. An archway leads through to the spacious farmhouse kitchen, with a large wooden table for long dinners, and there is a handy cloakroom on the ground floor.
Outside, the pretty patio has far reaching views to the side and a BBQ for the evening, with the dogs out on the lawn. Upstairs, under gently sloping ceilings, the king size and the twin make for sound sleep after a day out, and the bathroom's shower is a large one. For those who want to arrive in style, there is a private air strip nearby, and arrangements can be made directly with the owner.
The wild landscape of the Peak District is all around, and the dogs have a whole National Park to explore. Chatsworth House and its estate are a 10 minute drive away, and after a day out the pub in Cutthorpe is the place to rest aching legs.
