Eckington, Worcestershire
A stylish oak framed barn for six at Eckington with views to the Malvern Hills, a large enclosed garden, a walk of half a mile to the River Avon and a dog welcome.
Riverside walks along the River Avon begin within half a mile of Apple Tree Barn, a stylish oak framed barn in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside at Eckington. It sits within a cluster of converted farm barns on the north west side of Bredon Hill, and makes a lovely dog friendly stay for six, with a dog welcome too.
An oak framed storm porch leads into an inviting hallway, with a seat for taking off boots while the dog waits. The spacious lounge has large picture windows looking across the garden to the countryside and the Malvern Hills in the distance, with seating for six, a wall mounted Smart TV and a Bio Ethanol fire set in the fireplace. The kitchen/diner is a wonderful place for families to get together.
One king size room is downstairs. On the first floor, a second king has an en suite and walk in wardrobe, and a double looks across the countryside to the river and Strensham Church. Dogs are not permitted in any of the bedrooms or on the furniture. Outside, the large enclosed garden has uninterrupted countryside views, a big table, chairs and a BBQ, a lovely place for the dog to explore while supper cooks, and the undercover courtyard has shared access to a ping pong table.
Eckington has a well stocked village store and two good pubs, so the car can stay put. Waymarked paths for walking and cycling lead out from the village, Bredon Hill is 4 miles away, and the Wychavon Way and the riverside walks from Strensham Lock are close by for long days with the dog. The Blossom Trail, the Asparagus Festival and the Plum Festival fill the year.

Is Apple Tree Barn - Eckington dog friendly?
Yes, Apple Tree Barn welcomes one dog. It's worth knowing that it sits alongside a four-star barn on the same site which allows two dogs — the five-star rating here comes with slightly tighter terms, and that includes the one-dog limit.
Are dogs allowed at Apple Tree Barn - Eckington year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so there's nothing to suggest the welcome varies by time of year. If you need to confirm availability for specific dates, it's always worth checking directly with the owners.
What should I know before visiting Apple Tree Barn - Eckington with my dog?
The owners ask that dogs stay off the beds and sofas — a clear, specific rule that's easy to work with. The layout is genuinely helpful: there's a ground floor bedroom next to the garden door, and a utility room that handles everything coming in from outside, so muddy paws after a walk along the Avon at Pershore aren't the problem they might be elsewhere.
