Azalea Barn

Lee, Devon

A two bedroom barn near Lee with an enclosed garden, a private hot tub in it, one dog welcome and the Morte Point circular two miles away.

Lee is a small cove village in a wooded valley west of Ilfracombe, and it stays quieter than anywhere else on this stretch of coast for the straightforward reason that the road in does not go anywhere afterwards. Azalea Barn sits in the countryside above it, two bedrooms, with an enclosed garden, a private hot tub in it and one dog welcome.

The Morte Point and Bull Point circular is two and a tenth of a mile away and takes an eight from us, and it is the walk to book this for: a headland with sea on three sides, gorse underfoot, and grey seals hauled out on the rocks below in the right conditions. It is a headland walk your dog will remember. Barricane is two and four tenths and Combesgate two and three tenths. Lee Bay itself is a short but steep walk down from the village, which is a fair description rather than a warning.

One dog. The enclosed garden holds both the hot tub and a gas BBQ, so the outdoor space works for the pair of you at the same time rather than in shifts. Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton are all a short drive if the headland walking is not enough, though the point of staying at Lee is rather that it usually is.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Azalea Barn dog friendly?

Yes, Azalea Barn welcomes one dog. The barn has an enclosed garden with a private hot tub and a gas BBQ, so your dog can be out with you while you make use of the outdoor space.

  • Are dogs allowed at Azalea Barn year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend confirming directly with the owner before booking to be sure.

  • What should I know before visiting Azalea Barn with my dog?

The key things to know are that only one dog is welcome, and the enclosed garden means your dog has secure outdoor space from the moment you arrive. Lee Bay beach is a steep walk down from the village, and the Morte Point and Bull Point circular — a headland walk with sea on three sides and grey seals on the rocks in the right conditions — is just over two miles away and very much the reason to base yourself here.
