Bay View

Brodick, Isle of Arran

A single storey house for eight in Brodick on Arran, with views of Goat Fell and the bay, landscaped enclosed gardens with a summerhouse and two dogs welcome.

Goat Fell rises on one side and Brodick Bay spreads out on the other, and Bay View sits between them in an elevated spot in the island's main village. Detached and dog friendly, it sleeps eight on the Isle of Arran, all on one floor, with four bedrooms, three shower rooms and two dogs welcome.

The gardens are landscaped, private and enclosed, lawned, with a terrace, a sitting-out area and a summerhouse, and there are squirrels and birds enough to keep two dogs occupied for a week. The owners point out that there are drops within the garden, so it is worth walking the dogs round it on the first day and keeping an eye on them near those edges.

Inside, patio doors lead from the living room straight out to the garden. There is a separate dining room and a kitchen, and two of the four bedrooms have en suite shower rooms, so a group of eight spreads out without much queueing. With no stairs anywhere, an older dog can follow its people from room to room all day.

The ferry comes in to Brodick, and from the village the coastal path to Lamlash starts almost at the door, running south round the headland with the sea beside it. Goat Fell, the island's highest peak, is climbed from Brodick, and the castle and its grounds sit at the foot of the mountain. Beyond that the whole island opens up for a dog, with sheltered beaches, forest tracks and hills.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Bay View dog friendly?

Yes, Bay View welcomes up to two dogs. The house has a private, enclosed, landscaped garden with a lawn, terrace and summerhouse, giving dogs plenty of space to explore — along with squirrels and birds to keep them entertained.

  • Are dogs allowed at Bay View year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but it's always worth confirming directly with the owner when you book, particularly if you're planning a visit at a busy or off-peak time.

  • What should I know before visiting Bay View with my dog?

The garden is enclosed and dog friendly, but the owners flag that there are some drops within it, so it's worth walking your dogs around the boundary on the first day and keeping a close eye on them near those edges. On the plus side, the single-storey layout means older or less mobile dogs can move freely throughout the whole house without tackling any stairs.
