Eastby, North Yorkshire

A two bedroom cottage for four adults on a working farm at Eastby in the Yorkshire Dales, with an enclosed back garden, two wood burners, a boot porch and two dogs welcome.

Book now

Pet donkeys, goats, the farm's own dogs, sheep and cows all live around Bondcroft Farm Cottage, which sits on a working farm at Eastby, just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park above Skipton. Two double bedrooms, four adults and two dogs: that is the booking at this dog friendly farm cottage.

A porch by the door takes muddy boots, coats and dog leads before anyone reaches the carpet. Beyond it there are wood burners in both the living room and the dining room, a galley kitchen, and upstairs two doubles, one with its own shower room. Behind the cottage is an enclosed garden with furniture and a gas barbecue, which one guest described as a superb little enclosed garden and just right for dogs.

Because this is a working farm with animals all around, every dog stays on its lead around the place, and the enclosed garden is where two dogs can settle outside while you sit with them. There are no children at Bondcroft, so it tends to be a quiet place, and returning guests come for walks from the door and an evening by the fire with the dogs asleep.

The walking begins at the farm gate, and Bolton Abbey, where the path follows the Wharfe through woods to the Strid, is a short drive. Burnsall and the falls at Linton are further up the same valley, and Malham, with its cove and Gordale Scar, is within reach for a longer day out with the dogs. Skipton's market and castle are a few miles down the road.

We research every description carefully and believe it to be accurate, but details can change. Please confirm anything important, especially dog rules, with the booking agent or property owner before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Bondcroft Farm Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Bondcroft Farm Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has a boot porch by the front door for muddy leads and coats, and an enclosed back garden where your dogs can settle outside while you sit with them.

  • Are dogs allowed at Bondcroft Farm Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, and the cottage's setup — wood burners in both the living room and dining room, a boot porch, and an enclosed garden — makes it well suited to visits at any time of year. That said, it's always worth checking directly with the owner when you book.

  • What should I know before visiting Bondcroft Farm Cottage with my dog?

Because Bondcroft is a working farm with donkeys, goats, sheep, cows and the farm's own dogs living around the property, all visiting dogs must be kept on a lead around the farm at all times. The enclosed back garden is the designated space where your dogs can relax off-lead outside, so bear that in mind if your dog needs plenty of free-running time.
