Ca Na Each is a detached cottage set high in the charming crofting village of Culkein, 1 mile from Drumbeg on the north west coast of Scotland, with magnificent views over the sea and the islands. This dog friendly retreat sleeps four with two dogs, whether the trip is a family adventure or a peaceful romantic getaway for two.
The views arrive before the front door does. Inside, the porch takes the outdoor clothing, and the comfortable lounge shares those same views and has a cosy wood burner, with an initial supply of logs, for the dogs to stretch out beside after a day out exploring. The well equipped kitchen leads off the lounge, and the spacious dining room looks out over the bay at every meal.
Up the stairs, the tastefully decorated double has sea views and the twin can be zipped together into a super-king on request, and both rooms have a TV and a USB charging point. Outside, the enclosed garden has seating areas at the front and the rear, so there is a choice of spot for a coffee in the open air, with the dogs pottering happily between the two.
This coastline has numerous spectacular beaches, and the hills draw walkers, Munro baggers and their dogs to Quinag, Suilven, Canisp and Ben More Assynt. Birdwatchers have the famous puffin colony and bird sanctuary on Handa Island, fly fishing permits are available locally, and painters and writers find plenty of inspiration here. Lochinver, 12 miles away, makes a lovely day out.
