Cardew Farmhouse stands on the edge of a family-run working farm amid protected coast and countryside, just over a mile from Boscastle, and the views from it are spectacular. Detached and dog friendly, the farmhouse sleeps six and welcomes two dogs, and pairs beautiful styling and creature comforts with fabulous original features.
After a walk the dogs make straight for the wood burner, and a first basket of logs is waiting. An electric range oven and gas hob take care of the cooking, the utility room, with its washer and tumble dryer, takes the muddy kit, and the pool table in the games room looks after the evenings. Dogs are not permitted upstairs.
Out of doors, the garden is enclosed and set up with seating and a charcoal BBQ, so the dogs can join you outside while supper cooks. The top of the range hot tub, with its automated gazebo and cover, is where the day ends. The bedrooms are a pair of king-size doubles and a twin, served by one bathroom and one shower room.
The North Cornwall coast and the upper Camel Valley lie either side of the farmhouse, both internationally designated wildlife sites, so keep an eye out for protected species on walks with the dogs. Boscastle has plenty for a meal out, Tintagel and its tales of King Arthur are not far away, and the beautiful town of Padstow is a little further on.
