Trebarwith Strand is a spectacular north Cornish beach on the Atlantic coast south of Tintagel, reached via a narrow valley that opens dramatically onto the sea. At low tide the beach is an enormous expanse of flat, firm sand, with dramatic slate cliff formations rising on both sides and a series of surf breaks running along the bay. The surrounding landscape is rugged north Cornish slate country, and the valley approach through gorse and heather adds to the sense of arrival. The Port William Inn sits at the top of the beach in a commanding position above the sea.
