1 / 16Rosefern
Tintagel, Cornwall
A new detached house for eight in Tintagel, with an enclosed back garden, a private hot tub, underfloor heating and two dogs welcome, a short walk from the castle.
Rosefern was finished in late 2022, which makes it about fifteen centuries younger than the legend it lives next to. This is dog friendly Tintagel at its newest: a detached house for eight a short walk from the village and the castle, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a private hot tub and two dogs welcome.
The house is built upside down. The four bedrooms, two of them kingsize with their own shower rooms, are on the ground floor, and so is the enclosed back garden with its patio and furniture, which means the dogs go out from the bedroom level rather than the kitchen. Upstairs the open plan living space has the kitchen, the dining table and a set of patio doors onto a balcony. Stair gates are available for anyone who would rather the dogs kept to one floor.
It suits a group who like their evenings organised. The hot tub seats eight, so nobody is waiting for a turn. The underfloor heating runs through the whole house, which is the sort of thing a dog notices before any person does and then refuses to leave, and a welcome pack and doggy extras are waiting when you get in.
Tintagel Castle is under half a mile away, and the coves at Bossiney Haven and Trebarwith Strand are both within walking distance along the coast path. Boscastle is the next harbour up, and Bodmin Moor, with Rough Tor and Brown Willy rising out of it, gives a dog a wide open morning inland.

Book with cottages.comFrequently Asked Questions
Is Rosefern dog friendly?
Yes, Rosefern welcomes up to two dogs. The house has an enclosed back garden that opens directly from the bedroom level, making it easy to let dogs out, and a welcome pack with doggy extras is waiting when you arrive.
Are dogs allowed at Rosefern year round?
The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions for dogs, so it's worth checking directly with the property when you book. As a dedicated dog-friendly house rather than a hotel or holiday park, the setup is designed with dogs in mind throughout.
What should I know before visiting Rosefern with my dog?
The house allows a maximum of two dogs, and stair gates are available if you'd like to keep them on one floor. The underfloor heating runs throughout, so your dog is likely to make themselves very comfortable very quickly. The enclosed back garden is a handy base, and Bossiney Haven and Trebarwith Strand are both reachable on foot along the coast path if you're planning walks.
