A quiet country lane on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, open fields on every side, and walks and cycle routes that start at the front door. Chaplin takes a couple and one dog at Little Tathwell, a dog friendly single storey cottage and one of a semi-detached pair a few miles out of Louth.

Everything is on the ground floor. The living, dining and kitchen space is one open room with a radio and a dock for music, the bedroom has a zip and link super king that splits into twins on request, and the shower room is next to it. There are no stairs anywhere, which suits an older dog as well as it suits the people.

Outside, the cottage has its own enclosed lawn with a patio and garden furniture, and that is the dog's patch. Beyond it are an acre of landscaped grounds shared with Bentinck next door, where a dog stays with its owner, and the laundry room is shared between the two cottages too. Put together it makes for a very still sort of stay: a walk down the lane in the morning, the dog asleep on the patio by noon, and nothing louder than the birds over the fields in the evening.
