Afonwen, Flintshire
A cottage for four on a five acre smallholding near Afonwen, with an enclosed garden, a wood fired hot tub and Offa's Dyke from the door, three dogs welcome.
Offa's Dyke path is reachable directly from the cottage, which for anybody who walks with dogs settles it. Cimwch Farm Cottage sits on a five acre smallholding near Afonwen, a dog friendly cottage for four with an enclosed garden holding a wood fired hot tub and a chiminea. The allowance is three, and the path begins before the car does.
Two bedrooms, a king size and a twin, with an en-suite shower room and a separate WC. The lounge and diner has a feature fireplace with a coal fire, and the kitchen is fitted for proper cooking. Outside there is a bike washdown and a bar to lock bikes to, and three dogs will use that hose as readily as any bicycle. The garden is enclosed and the hot tub in it is heated by wood, which is provided.
Wood fired is slower than electric and that turns out to be the point of it. Somebody lights it in the afternoon, and by the time three dogs have been walked off the Dyke and fed it has come up to temperature with the chiminea going alongside. Because the garden is enclosed the dogs stay out with everybody rather than shut indoors, and nobody moves until it is dark.
A couple of miles off, Afonwen has a craft centre, an antiques shop and a restaurant, and Caerwys nearby claims to be the smallest town in Wales. Denbigh holds a castle and a museum, while Mold is known for its street market and its theatre. The Clwydian hills stand west with Moel Famau along the ridge, and three dogs will cover a great deal of Offa's Dyke from here.

Book with holidaycottages.co.ukFrequently Asked Questions
Is Cimwch Farm Cottage dog friendly?
Yes, and it's genuinely set up for it. Up to three dogs are welcome, the garden is fully enclosed so they can roam freely outside, and Offa's Dyke path is accessible directly from the cottage without needing to get in the car.
Are dogs allowed at Cimwch Farm Cottage year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and nothing about the setup suggests otherwise. With an enclosed garden, a wood fired hot tub and a coal fire inside, it's well suited to visits in the colder months as much as summer.
What should I know before visiting Cimwch Farm Cottage with my dog?
The cottage takes up to three dogs, and the enclosed garden means they can stay outside with you in the evenings rather than being shut indoors. There's a hose and bike washdown area outside, which is handy for muddy paws after a day on the Dyke, and wood for the hot tub is provided.
