Great Snoring, Norfolk
A 17th century cottage for four at Great Snoring in north Norfolk, with its own enclosed lawned garden, a heated outdoor dog shower and three dogs welcome.
The dog shower here is heated. Somebody thought hard about dog owners at Cherry Tree Cottage, one of three 17th century cottages at Clevency in Great Snoring, refurbished with the old bones left showing and made dog friendly for up to three dogs, with a welcome pack and doggy extras laid on.
Four people sleep upstairs, in a king size room and a twin, with a bath and a separate shower upstairs. The staircase is part of the character and it is steep and narrow in places, so a stairgate is provided, and an older or smaller dog may be happier kept to the ground floor. Down there the living room has a wood burner and the kitchen doubles as the dining room.
There are two kinds of outdoor space and it helps to know which is which. Cherry Tree has its own enclosed lawned garden with a patio, and that is where the dogs go. Beyond it is a further garden with seating, and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, both shared with the other cottages on site, so dogs there are in company. Evenings tend to start at the outdoor kitchen and end back by the wood burner, dogs rinsed at the shower and asleep before the plates are cleared.
A footpath leaves from just round the corner and runs across the fields to Little Walsingham, with its shrine and its abbey ruins. The north Norfolk coast is a short drive, with the wide sands at Wells-next-the-Sea open to dogs and the pinewoods and beach at Holkham beside them.

Book with cottages.comFrequently Asked Questions
Is Clevency Cottages - Cherry Tree Cottage dog friendly?
Very much so — up to three dogs are welcome at Cherry Tree Cottage, and it's clear the owners have thought carefully about what that actually means in practice. Expect a dog welcome pack on arrival, doggy extras laid on, and a heated outdoor dog shower for muddy returns from the fields or the coast.
Are dogs allowed at Clevency Cottages - Cherry Tree Cottage year round?
The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions, so it's worth contacting the cottage directly to confirm availability for your dates. What we can say is that the setup — a wood burner inside and an enclosed garden out — works well whatever the weather.
What should I know before visiting Clevency Cottages - Cherry Tree Cottage with my dog?
Cherry Tree has its own enclosed lawned garden where dogs are welcome, separate from the shared garden and outdoor kitchen area used by all three cottages on site, so it's worth knowing the difference. The internal staircase is steep and narrow, and while a stairgate is provided, older or less agile dogs may be more comfortable staying on the ground floor.
