Craigmoy is a light, bright contemporary cottage on the outskirts of the ancient fishing port of Nairn on the Moray Firth, and two beaches and two links golf courses lie within a mile of the door. Four guests and one dog stay here, everything inside is on one level, and this dog friendly cottage feels instantly at home.
The side door opens straight into a charming open plan kitchen and diner, the place for home cooked meals round the table, and the cosy lounge is where everyone winds down with a film after the day's walking. The interior has been thoughtfully decorated throughout, and the dog will soon have a favourite corner of it.
Off the main hall are the two contemporary bedrooms and a beautiful shower room. The enclosed garden is paved around the back and side, with a lovely patio, a decked area and outdoor seating, and breakfast tastes better out on the deck while the dog has a good look round.
Nairn's beaches are within 0.5 miles, and Culbin Forest, 1 mile away, is a unique reserve running along the Moray coast with many trails and views across to Findhorn Bay, a grand morning out for the dog. Seals, dolphins and a great variety of birds live along this coast, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle and the Malt Whisky Trail are close by, and the Highland capital of Inverness makes the day trip.
