Inside, the open plan lounge, kitchen and diner runs from a well equipped kitchen at one end to a cosy living space at the other, where large sliding doors look out to sea. Evenings are spent in front of the electric log effect fire with the radio, a film or a good book, the doors left open to the sound of the ocean, and underfloor heating keeps things warm for the dogs stretched out on the floor.
Back from the sand, outdoor hot and cold water taps take care of sandy dogs and surf boards alike. By the side entrance there is storage for coats and walking shoes, and the shower room is close by for the humans. To the rear, a secluded patio with dining furniture looks across the cliff top and the sea, and the enclosed rear garden on the seaward side is where the dogs get their fresh air. Both bedrooms have comfortable doubles and sea views.
Rhossili's 3 mile sandy beach is dog friendly all year round, and the 4.5 mile trail out to Worms Head, open for a few hours around low tide, is a walk the dogs will not forget. A pub and a choice of cafes are a short walk away, and the rest of Gower waits along the coast at Port Eynon, Oxwich Bay and Three Cliffs Bay.
