Sandy boots go in the hallway at Cresborough, which says something about where the days are spent. This is a cosy mid terrace cottage in the vibrant Welsh town of Tenby, a spacious dog friendly cottage for six, and the owner describes its garden as ideal for four legged guests.

After the beach, everyone sinks into the lounge, with plump seating, an armchair, SkyTV and an electric woodburner effect fire, and the dogs dry off at your feet while the kettle goes on. Through an archway, everybody gathers round a large oak table in the dining room, and the spacious kitchen is fully equipped. There is a second WC downstairs, and the first floor holds the king size bedroom, the double and the bunk room, together with a family bathroom.

Two outdoor spaces come with the cottage. There is a garden at the front, and at the rear a wonderful enclosed lawn that the owner says your canine visitor will adore, with a patio for sitting out with a glass of wine in the sunshine. Supper can happen out there on a long evening while the dogs make the lawn their own. Book in December and the cottage will be decorated for Christmas.

A gorgeous sandy beach and the harbour are 1 mile away, and from the harbour boats run to the monastic island of Caldey. In summer the town centre goes traffic free and takes on a cafe culture, with tables out in Tudor Square, and there are plenty of streets and sands to wander with a dog.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Cresborough dog friendly?

Yes, Cresborough welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has two fully enclosed gardens — a larger rear lawn where the dogs can really stretch their legs, and a smaller front garden that catches the morning sun — so your dogs have secure outdoor space whichever door you use.

  • Are dogs allowed at Cresborough year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the owner when booking to confirm availability for your dates. What the listing does make clear is that the setup — enclosed gardens, a hallway built for muddy returns, and a washing line — is designed with dogs (and their humans) firmly in mind.

  • What should I know before visiting Cresborough with my dog?

The cottage accepts up to two dogs, and both gardens are enclosed, which is genuinely uncommon for a town-centre property. In town, dogs should be kept on a lead, while Colby Woodland Garden nearby offers off-lead walking through a wooded valley — a good place to burn off energy. The beach and harbour at Tenby are about a mile away on foot, making it easy to build a dog-friendly day without needing the car.
