Book now

Field View Escape is a semi detached cottage in the quiet village of Potterhanworth, in a rural spot with views over open fields and within easy reach of Lincoln. Four guests share this dog friendly escape with one dog, and the owner may consider a second if it is arranged beforehand. A public footpath leaves just along the road for a woodland walk with the dog.

In the hallway a dresser holds an array of leaflets on things to do, plenty of inspiration for the whole stay. Bright and airy, the spacious open plan room combines lounge, kitchen and a farmhouse style dining table, a TV and comfortable seating, and patio doors lead straight out to the hot tub, so the dog can follow everyone out into the garden. Both king size bedrooms are en suite, one with a shower room and the other with a bathroom, and the second looks out over the fields at the back.

The hot tub sits at the rear of the property overlooking the Wolds, with Bluetooth and mood lights for the evening. In the enclosed rear garden a dining table and chairs wait for meals outside, and the owner calls it great for garden games and for stretching the dog's legs. Bike storage is available too.

Lincoln, a thriving university city, has its magnificent cathedral and medieval castle up in the historic Bailgate area. To the east the Lincolnshire Wolds roll out in hills and villages that reward a day's walking with a dog, and the golden sands of the coast lie further east still. RAF Waddington, base of the Red Arrows, is 9 miles away, and Doddington Hall and Gardens make a fine afternoon out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Field View Escape dog friendly?

Yes, Field View Escape welcomes one dog as standard. A second dog may also be possible if you check with the owner beforehand, so it's worth asking if you're travelling with two.

  • Are dogs allowed at Field View Escape year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, so it's best to confirm directly with the owner when booking if you have a particular time of year in mind.

  • What should I know before visiting Field View Escape with my dog?

The rear garden is enclosed, giving your dog a safe space to roam on the grassed area while you make use of the hot tub on the patio. There's a footpath from the village that leads out to fields and woodland, and the ancient Bardney Limewoods are just 3.2 miles east for a longer day out — one of the rarer lime tree woodlands left in England.
