Jacksons Cottage - Chipping Campden

Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire

A two bedroom cottage for four at Chipping Campden, with an enclosed garden, both bedrooms en suite, a private hot tub and one dog welcome.

The cottage sits where the town stops. One end of the lane is the finest high street in the Cotswolds and the other is a field, which for anybody arriving with a dog is the whole argument: the crowd is two minutes away and so is the absence of it. Jacksons Cottage takes four at Chipping Campden, five star and dog friendly, with two king rooms, each with a bathroom off it, and an enclosed garden behind. Having both ends of a lane is worth more than having either.

The garden is landscaped and fenced with country past it, and a private hot tub sits out there under stated rules about hours and ages. Indoors there is a wood burner and a ground floor cloakroom that takes the laundry, which is the right place to meet a dog that has been in a field. One dog comes with the booking.

Two couples who want to walk out of a front door into somewhere worth walking are the party for it. Campden is built of one stone in one colour and curves the length of its street, so the town is the first walk of any stay and the escarpment above it the second. One dog covers both inside a mile of the door.

At the end of the lane, Chipping Campden keeps an arcaded market hall put up in 1627 standing loose in the middle of the road, and a wool church at the top end paid for by a single merchant. Dover's Hill rises past the last houses, a natural amphitheatre on the escarpment lip where an eccentric ran his own Olimpick Games from 1612. One dog gets a high street and a hilltop with the vale under it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Jacksons Cottage - Chipping Campden dog friendly?

Yes, Jacksons Cottage welcomes one dog as part of your booking. The cottage has an enclosed garden with countryside beyond it, and a ground floor cloakroom that's well suited for cleaning up a muddy dog after a walk. You're also just moments from open fields and the escarpment at Dover's Hill, so it's a genuinely good base for dog owners.

  • Are dogs allowed at Jacksons Cottage - Chipping Campden year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so there's nothing to suggest they're limited to certain times of year. That said, it's always worth confirming directly with the property when you book, particularly if you're planning a visit during busier periods.

  • What should I know before visiting Jacksons Cottage - Chipping Campden with my dog?

The cottage accepts one dog per booking, so it's worth checking in advance if you're hoping to bring more than one. There's a ground floor cloakroom that's handy for dogs coming in from the fields, and the enclosed garden gives them a safe outdoor space. The hot tub in the garden does have stated rules around hours and ages, so it's worth reading those before you arrive.
