Kilbarth Cottage is a contemporary, luxury family cottage in a peaceful hamlet just north of Haverfordwest, graded five stars and sleeping six. The beautifully landscaped garden is enclosed, with a large patio terrace and a generous lawn above it, and two dogs are welcome at a dog friendly cottage centrally placed for Pembrokeshire's coast and country.

A generous hallway leads through to one open plan room for relaxing and dining, with wood flooring throughout, comfortable seating round the wall mounted Smart TV and a table for six beside the contemporary kitchen, where a Rangemaster induction cooker, an American fridge freezer and a Nespresso machine wait. A utility room and a WC lead off the kitchen, and the dogs settle wherever the family gathers.

Up the custom made staircase are three luxurious bedrooms, the king with an en suite shower room, the double with mirrored wardrobes and the twin with its own TV, and the family bathroom has an L shaped bath. Outside, the patio terrace has seating and a charcoal barbecue for eating outdoors, and steps lead up to the lawn, where the children can play and two dogs can join them in the evening sun.

Haverfordwest is just under 3 miles away, with shops, bars, restaurants and a local cinema. Newgale, among North Pembrokeshire's finest beaches, is 9 miles off, Nolton Haven and Druidstone offer more peaceful spots, and two dogs can take on the famous coast path or head inland to the Preseli hills.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Kilbarth Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Kilbarth Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. It's a five star cottage with a fully enclosed two-level garden — a patio terrace below and a lawn above — so your dogs can move freely outside without you worrying about escapes. The wood floors throughout the open plan living space are a practical bonus after a muddy or sandy day out.

  • Are dogs allowed at Kilbarth Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owner directly to confirm availability for your dates. What is clear is that the cottage is set up with dogs in mind year round — there's a utility room and WC for wet coats, and the garden is enclosed whatever the season.

  • What should I know before visiting Kilbarth Cottage with my dog?

The cottage takes a maximum of two dogs, so it's worth confirming this before booking if you're travelling with more. The garden is enclosed on both levels, though the description notes the bottom gate is the one to keep an eye on. Inside, the wood floors make life easier after beach or trail walks, and there's a utility room for drying off wet gear before you come through to the main living space.
