Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Broad Haven North dog friendly?

Broad Haven North is a good option for dog owners, earning a 7/10 dog-friendly rating. It's a large, wide sandy beach with plenty of space, and outside the summer restriction season the full beach is open to dogs. During the restricted period from 1 May to 30 September, designated dog-accessible sections are in place, so there's still somewhere to bring your dog even in peak season.

  • Are dogs allowed at Broad Haven North year round?

Dogs are welcome at Broad Haven North throughout the year, but a partial seasonal restriction applies from 1 May to 30 September under the Pembrokeshire PSPO. During these months, dogs are only permitted in designated sections of the beach — maps showing these areas are available at the beach itself. Outside this period, the entire beach is open to dogs with no restrictions.

  • What should I know before visiting Broad Haven North with my dog?

It's worth checking the seasonal dog restriction dates before you visit — from 1 May to 30 September, dogs are limited to designated sections, so pick up a map at the beach to get your bearings. The car park can get busy in summer, so arriving early on warmer days is a good idea. On the plus side, the beach has a good range of facilities nearby including cafes, a pub, and shops, making it a comfortable day out for owners as well as dogs.
