There is a wood burner too, with logs included, and the three dogs will have found it before the bags are in. Being a reverse level cottage, it keeps the sleeping below, down the stairs to a lower ground floor holding an en suite master double and a bunk room with handcrafted, full size L shaped beds and its own TV.
Out in the enclosed garden a chiminea and a charcoal BBQ wait beside the garden furniture, and an evening there means a glass of wine, the chiminea lit and three dogs about the place. There is a pool table in the shared games room, and on Fridays from March to October Bar Silo, cleverly created on site from an old silo, opens for drinks, food and music, with free entry for guests to the occasional live entertainment.
Riverside walks wander downstream from the village, so each morning the dogs set the pace beside the water. Fowey, with its restaurants and individual boutiques, is close by, Charlestown of Poldark fame is a little further for lunch on the quay, and the beach is 2 miles away.
