Fowey to Polkerris Coastal Walk
Cornwall
This loop is one of the loveliest day walks out of Fowey, leaving the harbour past Saint Catherine's Castle and Readymoney Cove, climbing the cliffs to Gribbin Head and dropping down to the small beach village of Polkerris, before turning inland on the medieval Saints Way back to Fowey. It is a dog friendly route with a real mix of cliff, woodland and lane, and there are dog friendly pubs at both ends for a finishing drink.
Dogs are welcome on lead through Fowey town and along the cliffs, with summer restrictions on Readymoney Cove and Polkerris beach broadly from Easter to October. The Saints Way return crosses working farmland with sheep and cattle so leads are essential there too. Parking in Fowey is limited and expensive in peak season, so the long stay at Hanson Drive or the Park and Ride at Caffa Mill are the easiest options.
