The deck at Sunny Skies faces south, and patio doors open onto it straight from the living room, so the dog tends to have claimed the sunny end of the boards before anybody has unpacked. This is a detached cottage at Little Crugwallins near St Austell, dog friendly and sleeping four, two bedrooms on the ground floor and one dog on the booking, with doggy extras waiting and no charge for bringing it.

The lawn around the cottage is enclosed and is the private garden, the place the dog can be left to potter while the table on the deck is laid. The rest of the grounds are shared between the cottages on the site: half an acre of gardens with a summerhouse, a barbecue and a children's play area, and an acre of field kept for exercising dogs. Six steps run through that shared part, and there is a hot and cold dog shower outside.

It is a family's cottage more than a couple's. The two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with twin singles, share a bathroom, a travel cot and highchair can be asked for, and children have the play area while the dog has the field. Everything is on one floor, which suits small legs of both kinds, and the evening settles on the deck with the dog stretched out along the boards.

The Eden Project, its biomes sunk in an old clay pit, is a short drive, and so is Heligan with its jungle valley and rediscovered gardens. Further east, Fowey climbs above its estuary, the town Daphne du Maurier made her home, and the south coast beyond it is a run of coves for a dog to work through at leisure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Little Crugwallins - Sunny Skies dog friendly?

Yes, Sunny Skies is dog friendly and welcomes one dog at no extra charge. Doggy extras are waiting for your arrival, and the cottage has its own enclosed lawn where your dog can roam freely, plus a shared acre of field specifically kept for exercising dogs.

  • Are dogs allowed at Little Crugwallins - Sunny Skies year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, but nothing in the available information suggests dogs are limited to particular times of year. It's always worth confirming directly with the property when you book.

  • What should I know before visiting Little Crugwallins - Sunny Skies with my dog?

The booking allows one dog, so if you're travelling with more it's worth checking with the property in advance. The shared grounds include six steps, which is handy to know if your dog has mobility considerations, though the cottage itself is all on one floor. There's a hot and cold outdoor dog shower for washing off after a day out, and the south-facing deck tends to be a favourite spot for dogs to settle once you've arrived.
