Court Farm House is an Elizabethan manor, recently refurbished, set within the park and farmland of the Llanover Estate on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with far reaching views across to the Black Mountains. It is five star dog friendly accommodation for eight across four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with two dogs welcome, and the owners have the dogs in mind from the start: two wood burners and the firewood come included, so everyone is kept toasty, the dogs among them.

Cross the courtyard into the flagstone hall. To the right lies the 17th century hall, with original panelling, deep window seats and the first wood burner, and next to it a games room with a table tennis table, a Smart TV and the second. The panelled dining room dates back to the 16th century and seats twelve, and a flagstone porch on the garden side takes the muddy boots when the dogs come in off the lawn.

Outside, the enclosed lawned garden gives two dogs room to roam, with seating and a barbecue, and croquet and badminton sets wait for the extensive lawn. The owners ask that dogs stay downstairs and off the furnishings, so they settle by the fires while everyone else climbs to the four poster king size room and three twins, one with a window seat looking over the garden to the mountains beyond.

There is a wealth of walking from the door. Two dogs can take a lazy stroll along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or tackle The Blorenge, 4.5 miles away. Abergavenny, a lively market town known for its places to eat, is 3 miles off, and the estate's private gardens can be visited if arranged before you arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Llanover Estate - Court Farm House dog friendly?

Yes, Court Farm House welcomes two dogs and is set up well for them. The garden is fully enclosed on all sides, and a flagstone porch on the garden side is there to handle muddy boots and wet dogs after a walk. Beyond the garden wall, the Llanover Estate offers miles of private lanes and parkland to explore.

  • Are dogs allowed at Llanover Estate - Court Farm House year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, and nothing in the property details suggests otherwise. If you want to be certain for a particular time of year, it's worth checking directly with the property when you book.

  • What should I know before visiting Llanover Estate - Court Farm House with my dog?

The property accepts two dogs, so it's worth confirming that works for your group before booking. The enclosed garden is a great feature for letting dogs roam freely, and the estate lanes beyond offer serious off-lead walking territory — the kind where a dog covers far more ground than you do. If you'd like to visit the estate's private gardens, these can be arranged in advance.
