Book now

Newfold Farm is an all year round, dog friendly campsite in Edale, at the heart of the Peak District National Park. It is a working farm too, and its produce goes into The Fold cafe bar, open seven days a week for breakfasts with farm reared bacon and sausage, and into the on site Edale General Store. Tents spread across the traffic free Grouse and Sparrowhawk fields, there are 20 hardstanding electric pitches for vans, and the luxury bell tents in Lapwing field have views of the valley.

Asked whether dogs are allowed, the farm's answer is "Absolutely!", and there is a nightly charge per dog. The setting is made for walkers and their dogs: the Pennine Way, Edale village and its pubs are just minutes away, and a Kinder Scout walk from Peak District Kids starts right at Newfold Farm. On weekends in the busy season The Fold adds local produce specials, with wood fired pizzas in summer.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Newfold Farm dog friendly?

Newfold Farm is very much a dog friendly campsite, earning a 9/10 rating on Wildpack Collective. Dogs are welcomed across the site, with plenty of open space to roam, direct access to the surrounding Peak District hills, and the Pennine Way starting right from the village of Edale. The nearby Old Nags Head pub is also dog friendly, making it easy to round off a long walk in good company.

  • Are dogs allowed at Newfold Farm year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions for dogs, and the site has a long-standing reputation as a go-to for walkers and dog owners in all conditions. That said, it's always worth contacting the campsite directly to confirm availability and any seasonal policies before you book.

  • What should I know before visiting Newfold Farm with my dog?

The one thing to be aware of is that dogs are not permitted in the Luxury Bell Tents, so if you're booking one of those you'll need to look at alternative accommodation options. Otherwise, the site is well set up for dogs — there's open space for walks, direct trail access onto the hills, and an on-site cafe and bar where you can relax after a day out on the fells.
