With a lighthouse for a neighbour and the sea filling the view, Number 4 sits right on the Pembrokeshire coast path at St Anns Head, with fields behind it. It is a dog friendly character cottage for six, with two dogs welcome and walks straight from the door, and the owner rightly calls those sea views outstanding.

To the right of the hallway is a well appointed lounge with comfortable sofas, Netflix on the TV and a cosy wood burner. Back across the hall is the contemporary dining room, with an open fire of its own and views straight out to sea, and the kitchen beyond it. Two fires mean the two dogs get a choice of hearth at the end of a day on the coast path.

There is a family bathroom on the ground floor, and the three good sized bedrooms above all look out to sea: the master king has its own en suite, and the double and twin are tastefully finished too. The large enclosed garden comes with a built in barbecue, and a raised patio with steps down to a lower one, fenced and gated, with yet more of that view. The dogs stretch out on the patio as the coals heat up for supper.

A short walk brings the dogs to Mill Bay, where Henry Tudor came ashore, with a sandy beach and rock pools to investigate. Dale is 2 miles off, a delightful spot for boating and kayaking with shops and restaurants, the beaches at West Dale, Marloes and Broad Haven are all nearby, and the city of St Davids keeps its beautiful cathedral 15 miles away.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Number 4 St Anns Head Lighthouse dog friendly?

Yes, Number 4 welcomes up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed and secure on both levels, with fencing and gates all around the lower section — particularly reassuring given the headland setting — and the coast path runs directly past the garden wall, so your dog can be on it without crossing a road.

  • Are dogs allowed at Number 4 St Anns Head Lighthouse year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the owner when booking to confirm availability for your dates.

  • What should I know before visiting Number 4 St Anns Head Lighthouse with my dog?

The house takes a maximum of two dogs, and the enclosed garden on both levels means they can be outside safely at the edge of the headland. There's a ground-floor bathroom which is handy for washing off muddy paws after a walk, and Mill Bay — a sandy cove — is reachable on foot from the door. Dale village, about 2 miles away, offers somewhere to eat if you fancy a leg-stretch beyond the headland.
