Pembrokeshire: Angle Peninsula Circular Walk

Pembrokeshire

Dog Friendly Rating:8/10A wild and quiet dog friendly circumnavigation of the Angle Peninsula at the western end of the Milford Haven waterway, with sea views, sandy bays and Napoleonic forts.

Angle is a beautifully isolated peninsula at the very western tip of the Milford Haven waterway, an area often missed by visitors that rewards a long walking day with quiet clifftop, sandy bays and the dramatic ruins of Napoleonic era forts. This dog friendly circular follows the Pembrokeshire Coast Path the full way around the peninsula, taking in West Angle Bay, Thorn Island and Freshwater West.

This is a strenuous walk on grassy clifftop and a long stretch of beach, with several steep climbs and some exposure on the western cliffs. Dogs are welcome on the coast path but must be on the lead through the regular sheep fields and near the steep drops. West Angle Bay is dog friendly all year, while Freshwater West has seasonal restrictions on part of the beach (1 May to 30 September). Check the tide tables before starting as one section uses the beach below high water. Free parking in Angle village, dog friendly Old Point House Inn at the harbour.
