1 / 16Passion Flower Cottage
Dippertown, Devon
A stone barn for two at Dippertown in west Devon, with its own enclosed lawned garden, a gate into two fenced acres with an orchard, a multi-fuel stove and two dogs welcome.
Dog towels by the door, bowls in the kitchen and a stair gate already fitted. The owners of Passion Flower Cottage say plainly that they are very dog friendly, and the kit backs it up. It is a nineteenth century stone barn for two at Dippertown in west Devon, between Dartmoor and the Cornish border, and two dogs are welcome.
The cottage sits in the walled old farmyard beside the owners' home. Downstairs is one living and dining room with a multi-fuel stove and oak beams overhead, and the kitchen beside it. Upstairs the bedroom is open to the rafters, a king size bed under a vaulted ceiling, with a big bathroom holding both a bath and a walk-in shower. The stair gate keeps a dog on whichever floor you choose.
Behind the cottage is its own enclosed lawn with a patio and furniture, and a gate from it opens into two acres of grounds, also fenced, with a small orchard that the owners share with guests. A stream runs through those grounds, so a dog out there needs watching near the water. From the far side a public footpath leads straight into woodland, which makes the first walk of every day one that starts with no car at all.
Dartmoor's western edge is 7 miles off at Lydford, where the gorge and the moor above it take a dog as far as anyone wants to walk. Tavistock has its pannier market and Launceston its castle on the hill, and when the dogs want sand, the north Cornwall beaches around Bude and Boscastle are inside an hour.

Book with cottages.comFrequently Asked Questions
Is Passion Flower Cottage dog friendly?
Passion Flower Cottage is genuinely dog friendly — the owners say so plainly, and the setup backs it up. You'll find dog towels by the door, bowls in the kitchen, and a stair gate already fitted so you can keep your dog on whichever floor suits you. Up to two dogs are welcome.
Are dogs allowed at Passion Flower Cottage year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and with two dogs welcome and practical kit already in place, the cottage is set up for dog visitors as a matter of course. For confirmation on specific dates, it's worth checking directly with the owners when you book.
What should I know before visiting Passion Flower Cottage with my dog?
The cottage has its own enclosed lawn, plus a gate into two fenced acres of grounds that include a small orchard — good news for dogs who need a secure space to stretch their legs. One thing to be aware of: a stream runs through those grounds, so you'll want to keep an eye on your dog near the water. A public footpath leads straight from the grounds into woodland, so your first walk of the day can begin right from the door without getting in the car.
