Riber House stands high on a hill looking out over Matlock and the valley beyond, with some of the best views in the Peak District, and at night the lights of the town twinkle below. Surrounded by rolling fields and livestock, this dog friendly house brings fourteen people and two dogs together for a special celebration.
Coats are hung and boots stored in the porch when everyone comes back in with the dogs. The kitchen diner has a 14 seater table that gathers the entire party, granite worktops and a central island with seating, and floor to ceiling glass windows span the length of the lounge, where comfy seating gathers round a wood burner for the evening. The ground floor holds two bedrooms, one of them en suite, plus a utility and a further shower room, and the first floor has five pretty bedrooms and three further bathrooms. Children will love the snug, with its Smart TV, comfy seating and pile of board games.
A flight of steps leads down to the converted cellar, home to a pool table, a Smart TV and seating, with access to the outside. The enclosed garden spans around the house, with a large patio, a lawn for the dogs, a hot tub placed to take in the views, and a charcoal BBQ under its own shelter. Spa packages are available too.
Matlock is a riverside town with shops, cafes, pubs and antiques, and the Matlock Bath Illuminations light up the autumn 3 miles away. The Derwent Valley World Heritage Site has excellent walking routes to explore with the dogs. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Crich Tramway Village are all within an easy drive.
